Why is SEO important?

In the age of search engine advertising (SEM) and search engine marketing (SEO), there is a fierce battle between advertisers and service providers for the attention of users and the click-throughs that can be achieved – especially in the field of services and products offered in a highly competitive environment.

The SEM pricing of a frequently used keyword, a term searched for by potential customers, often reaches unimaginable heights.

In such a situation, users who reach a given page or landing page organically, by their “own efforts”, are understandably valued. A small proportion of them come directly (by getting to know the actor and/or the site from mainstream media), but a larger proportion may come to the site just by searching for a term they are interested in – which is where good SEO can help.

Here you can see the evolution of the unique visitors to our site, Start Up Guide Galaxis, which was created to test Pressonline CMS:

After the public publication at the end of January 2021, the direct traffic of the glossary – without the use of the usual online communication tools – is almost unchanged, while the organic access to the glossary is practically constantly increasing, with the initial number of visitors multiplying.

However, careful and thorough SEO setup of a site is far from enough: the site technology and content structure itself must also meet Google’s expectations
